The Sultanate of Oman is undergoing a massive industrial transformation. Guided by the Oman Vision 2040 framework, the country is significantly scaling up its downstream processing capacities, natural gas processing facilities, and petrochemical complexes. Key regions such as Sohar Industrial Port, the Duqm Special Economic Zone (SEZAD), and Salalah Free Zone serve as critical logistics and chemical refining nodes. In these heavy industrial environments, moisture and impurity control are not merely operational variables—they are safety-critical mandates.
Shanghai Jiuzhou Chemicals (JOOZEO) provides advanced synthetic zeolites specifically optimized to thrive in Oman's unique geographic and thermal landscape. The coastal operating conditions in Oman expose processing units to elevated ambient temperatures and high relative humidity. Under these environments, processing wet natural gas, feed hydrocarbons, and industrial gases requires molecular sieves with enhanced hydrothermal stability, minimal attrition loss, and high dynamic water capacity. Our systems ensure maximum uptime for refineries, fertilizer complexes, and LNG liquefaction trains across the Sultanate.
Synthetic zeolites rely on exact crystalline structures with highly uniform pore diameters. Selecting the correct pore aperture ensures that target impurities (water, hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, or mercaptans) are selectively trapped within the crystalline cavities, while bulk product streams flow through unhindered.
| Zeolite Type | Effective Pore Diameter | Primary Dynamic Targets | Typical Oman Industrial Applications |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3A Zeolite (JZ-ZMS3) | ~3 Ångströms | H₂O (excl. Ethylene/Propylene) | Cracked gas drying, LNG pre-treatment, ethanol dehydration in chemical plants. |
| 4A Zeolite (JZ-ZMS4) | ~4 Ångströms | H₂O, CO₂, SO₂, H₂S | Instrument air drying systems, static dehydration in closed loops. |
| 5A Zeolite (JZ-ZMS5) | ~5 Ångströms | n-paraffins, light mercaptans | Hydrogen purification via Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA), iso-paraffin separation. |
| 13X Zeolite (JZ-ZMS9) | ~10 Ångströms | H₂S, Mercaptans, CO₂ | Liquid hydrocarbon sweetening, LNG feed prep, deep air separation systems. |
Natural gas streams throughout the Middle East, including Oman, frequently contain variable levels of hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) and carbon dioxide (CO₂). Under specific conditions inside dehydrator beds, standard molecular sieves can act as catalysts, promoting the reaction between CO₂ and H₂S to produce Carbonyl Sulfide (COS). COS is a highly corrosive sulfur compound that ruins catalyst beds downstream and reduces the market value of LPG streams.
To overcome this, Shanghai Jiuzhou has developed specialized low-catalytic-activity molecular sieves such as JooSorb COS. By adjusting the surface chemistry and alkali metal exchange rates of the zeolite, we suppress the COS formation reaction while maintaining outstanding moisture and sulfur capacity. This chemical breakthrough is crucial for gas sweetening terminals in Duqm and Fahud.
Shanghai Jiuzhou Chemicals Co., Ltd. is located in China's premier economic hub, Shanghai. Over the years, Jiuzhou has strictly adhered to the principles of "Quality Control & Continuous Innovation", remaining thoroughly committed to the research, development, and manufacturing of premium, high-efficiency chemical products. Our core product portfolio encompasses dynamic molecular sieve powders, synthetic molecular sieves, activated powders, activated alumina, aluminum oxide catalysts, various alumina packing materials, inert ceramic balls, sodium silicates, aluminum hydroxide, zeolite 4A, sodium carbonates, and SLES. All of our structural operations and products are fully certified under ISO9001: 2008 Quality Management System, alongside international TUV & SGS audits.
Our manufacturing complexes house a world-class technical team and senior chemical resource experts. Incorporating state-of-the-art international production processes, we employ automated, multi-functional workshops backed by a comprehensive central laboratory and dynamic analytical laboratories. This extensive setup guarantees that all shipments meet and exceed rigorous international chemical standards.
We believe that high-performance plants require flawless raw materials. Our manufacturing divisions in Shanghai and Wuxi maintain independent production lanes for specialized adsorbents. With our dynamic analytical testing, we simulate specific refinery gas environments (adjusting temperature, humidity, pressure, and sulfur concentrations) to ensure that the chemical attrition rates, crush strength, and equilibrium adsorption of our products match the highest benchmarks in the field.
Our corporate vision goes beyond manufacturing. We design eco-friendly adsorption solutions that actively reduce VOC emissions, limit greenhouse gases, and purify industrial air. By providing high-efficiency drying agents, we help Omani companies minimize fuel combustion in regeneration loops, lowering their carbon footprint and supporting the global drive towards net-zero operations.

Green & Low-Carbon Manufacturing Guidelines
We offer reliable maritime transit paths to major Omani entries: Port of Sohar, Port of Salalah, and Port of Duqm. Our logistics teams handle customs clearances, providing comprehensive paperwork to match Omani regulatory standards.
To shield synthetic zeolites from moisture during ocean transport, we package them in steel drums with internal hermetic liner bags, or heavy-duty super sacks with vapor barriers. This guarantees that they arrive ready for loading.
Our engineers provide dynamic load calculation models, bed profiling support, and detailed loading manuals to ensure ideal flow patterns and prevent fluidization or premature breakdown in dehydration towers.
As Oman accelerates its green hydrogen strategy through targets coordinated by Hydrom (Hydrogen Oman), the role of synthetic zeolites is expanding rapidly. Green hydrogen production from solar and wind power, alongside green ammonia production in industrial clusters, requires extreme gas purification. Impurities must be removed to protect polymer electrolyte membranes and downstream synthesis catalysts.
Shanghai Jiuzhou is at the forefront of this shift, engineering molecular sieves with optimized adsorption capacities at lower partial pressures. Our R&D efforts focus on reducing regeneration temperatures, allowing plant operators to run TSA cycles using residual heat or low-carbon electricity, supporting Oman's Net-Zero by 2050 mandate.
